The CCAMLR krill synoptic survey |
The survey will start with
the meso-scale survey around the South Sandwich Islands. The ship will
start at the northeastern end of the meso-scale box and proceed down the
eastern side of the island chain. It will then pass up the western side
of the island chain. Once the meso-scale survey has been run the ship will
start the large scale survey of Subarea 48. The ship will start from the
north eastern corner and run the most easterly transect (transect A) in
a north to south direction. The middle transect will then be run from south
to north (the ship will follow one of the meso-scale transect lines through
the meso-scale area). Finally the westerly long transect will be run from
north to south.
