These plots show the time variation of the line of sight Doppler velocity in beam 8 of the radar for each range gate. Each plot gives a stack of eleven adjacent ranges with the gate number referencing the range gate at the centre of the plot. The range given at the top of each plot references this gate. The radar was operating in a special mode in which high time resolution (10 seconds) data are returned for beam 8 whilst full scans are obtained at a time resolution of 3 minutes. Range resolution in this case is 15kms. Beam 8 is aligned in the magnetic meridian.
