Spacecraft

The space element involves three specially-designed spacecraft (GEOTAIL, WIND and POLAR). WIND and POLAR are NASA-led spacecraft; GEOTAIL is provided by ISAS (Japan). GGS is also a component of the International Solar Terrestrial Physics (ISTP) programme, which comprises spacecraft missions from Europe (CLUSTER and SOHO) and Russia (INTERBALL).
