UASD Instrument Overview: TULA
TULA, History and Context

All-sky cameras have been used in auroral research since the 1950s. There was an all-sky camera at Halley when the station was first opened in 1956. More recently, electronic all-sky imagers have replaced photographic all-sky cameras. An all-sky imager has been operating at Halley since March 1994. We call it TULA. The instrument is under development and its performance is being assessed. Key parameters are available as part of the GGS programme.
