| The aurora is Nature's television. In a television set electrons are accelerated towards the television screen. In the screen they collide with other atoms which then give off differing amounts of red, green and blue light. In geospace charged particles are accelerated towards the ionosphere. In the ionosphere they collide with other atoms which then give off differing amounts of mainly red and green light. |
