Data from our 2000/2001 season ice drifter buoys

On Sunday February 18th John King dropped 3 buoys from a twin otter onto the seaice in the Bellingshausen sea. 2 were dropped close together, one further away. Read the thrilling first-hand story (now with pictures) here!

Now that all the CALIBs have failed, new data is coming from the drifting buoys only :-(

Plotted are the seaice field, MSLP field, and buoys. The Buoys are colour-coded a bit: bright green for ours, darker colours for Martin Dobles.

I have replaced the seaice overlay from OMB with a higher resolution dataset from DTU (thanks to Leif Toudal).
