Energy surveys examine the energy performance of buildings and equipment and identify the major uses of energy, establish load profiles, and finding opportunities for savings which can then feed into sustainable energy action plans. So far basic surveys have been undertaken at Bird Island, Rothera and King Edward Point research stations.
Further audits are to be undertaken including BAS Cambridge and BAS ships. All new infrastructure projects have detailed energy reviews.
