Activities include:

the design and build of UK Antarctic research stations and infrastructure

maintaining and operating the BAS aircraft, ships and research stations in the polar regions

designing, building and supporting instrumentation, survey and engineering systems for BAS marine and airborne platforms

providing and supporting IT and communication systems at BAS Cambridge, on BAS ships and aircraft and on UK Antarctic research stations
-
managing the logistics to get scientists and support staff and equipment to and from the polar regions
-
providing mapping and geographic information support to BAS science and operations
-
developing the geographic information infrastructure for British Antarctic Territory and the wider area of BAS operations in the polar regions
