British Antarctic Survey has a number of resources available for use by teachers and students. Our main schools' resources are the sister websites ' (External) Discovering Antarctica ' and ' (External) Discovering the Arctic ' (see below), developed in partnership with the Royal Geographical Society and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Polar Regions Department.

British Antarctic Survey scientists and support staff also visit schools to talk about Antarctica, science, and living and working in the world's last great wilderness. Children enjoy trying on Antarctic clothing and examining the food used by the scientists who camp out in the field. We will always try our best to accommodate any requests we receive for school talks, but cannot guarantee attendance more than 50 miles from our offices in Cambridge.

Watch a recent interview by school students talking to BAS Meteorologist Tamsin Gray .
